Tacoma Walks for Breast Cancer
Tacoma Walks for Breast Cancer
By Roger Redifer, Transportation Safety Compliance Manager
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, a team of Tacoma employees participated in the 18th annual MultiCare “Come Walk with Me” Breast Cancer Walk in Sumner, Wash. The fundraising goal was $1,000, but the Tacoma employees exceeded that by raising $3,481. With 澳博体育app下载’s $5,000 match, our contribution rose to $8,481!
In total, more than 2,000 people walked, raising more than $270,000. All funds will support breast cancer patients at Good Samaritan and Good Samaritan Cancer Resource Center.
Items such as cooling caps, breast cancer treatment handbooks, post-surgical camisoles, and wigs/head scarves are needed to support these patients through their toughest fight.
In addition, funds raised also support cancer support groups, gentle exercise, grocery gift cards, skin and makeup care, and the Cancer Resource Center to provide emotional support to those going through treatment.
The “澳博体育app下载 Crew” carried signs remembering those they lost, those who won the battle, and those currently fighting.
Well done, 澳博体育app下载 Crew.
